Nestled in the hills overlooking Skaneateles Lake, Anyela's Vineyard has made a name for itself around Central New York for its wines and viticultural experience. Planting the grapes in 2001, owner Jim Nocek is carrying on his family's wine tradition that started generations ago. But few people are aware of the hard work that goes into running a vineyard in the cold climates of Upstate New York. A constant bout with the cold weather, Anyela's Vineyard faces unique challenges based on its location. "I think you have to have a strong passion and good business acumen to do this… but with this cold weather, you have to be able to gamble."
