Jim "Skinny" Greenfield and his brothers Bill "Dozer" Greenfield and Tom "Brown" Greenfield own and operate Greenfield Farms in Skaneateles. The farm has been in their family since the American Revolution and the brothers took ownership after their father died five years ago. The three brothers have kept the farm successful despite pressure from developers and special interest groups who try to use zoning ordinances to push farmers farther from town. “We’re the last ones on this side of the lake who haven’t sold to developers,” Skinny said. “I’ll probably do this till I’m dead. After that I figure our kids can have it if they want it.”
